HUNGARY

Medical and Preclinical Imaging Hungary

The Hungarian Medical and Preclinical Imaging Node is a multi-sited, multimodal infrastructure covering biomedical imaging at both preclinical and clinical levels. The Node provides access to preclinical MiniPET systems, complemented by clinical PET/SPECT-CT instrumentation. Functional Ultrasound (fUS), including hybrid applications coupled with SPECT/CT, is also available. The available instrumentation is complemented by advanced preclinical imaging technologies, including luminescent and fluorescent in vivo optical imaging systems suitable for functional investigations, a fluorescent molecular tomography platform, a laser speckle imaging system for real-time assessment of tissue perfusion dynamics, and an in vivo micro-CT for high-resolution visualization of structural alterations in bone microarchitecture. In addition to its imaging capabilities, the Node operates a cyclotron facility equipped with a 16.5 MeV, GMP-certified medical cyclotron dedicated to the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals.
